Leech Lake Activities To Get You Outside This Spring

1. Golf:  Leech Lake has four wonderful golf courses to choose from.

 

2.   Hiking and Biking: Leech Lake offers so many trails to choose from you won’t know where to start. Check out:

  • Heartland Trail, located just south of Walker which is one of the oldest paved trails in Minnesota’s North woods. It offers breathtaking views and a hiker’s paradise.

  • Paul Bunyan State Recreational Trail,  an easy going trail that offers beautiful scenery.

 

3. Fishing and Boating: Leech Lake in Cass County is about 112,000 surface acres and 150 feet in depth at its deepest point, although a majority of the lake is roughly 35 feet deep. Leech Lake in Walker, Minnesota is a great place to take the family to teach them how to fish or enjoy each other’s company while fishing. Eelpout Festival Review

The last weekend in February was the annual Eelpout Festival. More than 270 eelpout were caught throughout the two-day tournament held on Leech Lake.
