Leech Lake Fishing Report for Mar 30, 2018

Friday, March 30th, 2018

Travel conditions continue to be difficult throughout the lake with deep snow, slush, and minimal roads limiting where you can get to. Perch action has been particularly slow, and some tullibees continue to be found suspended over 30 feet or more off Stony Point.

Leech Lake Fishing Report for Mar 16, 2018

Friday, March 16th, 2018

You have to sort through some small fish, but the Sand Point area is producing perch in 8 to 18 feet. Tullibee anglers continue to do well off Stoney Point, finding suspended fish over 30 to 40 feet. Other areas on the lake have been tough to get to due to deep snow and a lack of roads – snowmobiles remain the best travel option.

Another round of snow this week means that snowmobiles remain the best travel option until some road systems are plowed open – check with resorts on those. Some perch are being caught in 10 to 15 feet off Sand Point and Cedar Point in Walker Bay. The Hardwoods, Goose Island area, and Duck Points also are giving up perch in 9 to 14 feet. Expect to sort through some small fish. Tullibees are being found suspended over 30 feet off Stoney Point and the Paris Trench area.
