Hikers Challenge 165

This year two chapters of the North Country Trail Association are kicking off a new hiking challenge. The Hikers Challenge 165 consists of hiking as much of you can of the NCT from State Highway 34 and State Highway 6 (Between Detroit Lakes and Remer). This specific section of trails is featured in the Guide to the North Country National Scenic Trail in Minnesota. The challenge will kick off April 25th. Anderson’s Grand Vu Lodge

This week we’re looking at Anderson’s Grand Vu Lodge on Leech Lake. One of the nderson Family Resorts, Grand VU Lodge is down on Pine Point peninsula. This resort is a great hideaway, tucked at the end of the peninsula away from the hustle and bustle of ordinary life. The resort boasts 17 modern lake homes decorated to feel like a true up-north vacation. Great fishing, Family fun and amenities including lodge, bait shop with fish cleaning/freezing service, full scale children’s playground, tennis/volleyball/basketball court, sand beach with waterslide, anchored water raft, docks, fully-protected harbor, boat rentals, fun bugs, canoes, paddleboats, bonfire pit, game room with pool table and arcades, and fully landscaped grounds with water fountains. There is also a 24-hour game room packed with table games and video games to suit any needs. The fitness center has a treadmill, elliptical, stair climber, weight machine, and more.

Easter Egg Hunt

Easter is a great time for family’s to come together and for children to hunt eggs! This year we’ll be out in Walker City Park Saturday April 4th and starting the event at noon. All children ages 12 and under are welcome to join in on the fun planned and there is no admission fee. The event is sponsored by the Spencer Ross Amrican Legion and should be done by 1pm .
