Huddle’s Resort

Friday, September 28th, 2012

Since 1928 Huddle’s Resort has been a favorite vacation destination for Minnesota residents. The Leech Lake area is a wonderful location not just for its scenery, but its proximity to many enjoyable area attractions such as golf courses, parks, shops, and restaurants.

Passed down through generations, Huddle’s Resort on Leech Lake is very family focused. Unlike other resorts, Roy and Kay Huddle aim to make each visitors stay memorable by focusing on the spirit of the resort.

Huddle’s Resort offers a wide variety of activities including volleyball games, scavenger hunts, hiking, and canoing. One of the favorites among these activites are the fishing contests. Leech Lake is one of Minnesota’s premier sport fishing lakes. With 112,000 acres of water it offers many opportunities for even the most amateur of anglers.

Huddle’s Resort also offers fully equipped cabins with all the modern comforts. You can enjoy a beautiful sunset over Leech Lake from your deck or screened porch, and if you love to grill you are in luck because each cabin also comes with a grill and a fire pit! You can choose from a one bedroom to a six-person bedroom and of course, each cabin features a beautiful lake view.

If you’re looking for that special place to be reminded of the magic, to gather family and friends for the simple pleasures of life at the lake—then come, join generations who have made Huddle’s Resort their family’s Minnesota vacation tradition!

Agency Bay Lodge is one of the many wonderful resorts and lodges that lace the shores of Leech Lake near Walker, Minnesota. Agency Bay Lodge, named for its location, is actually sandwiched on a peninsula directly between two beautiful bays on Leech Lake: Agency and Traders. This unique location affords visitors great opportunity for fishing, watersports, hiking in the Chippewa National Forest, and more. They have over 2,000 feet of shoreline, including a sugar sand beach. Agency Bay alone is 3.5 miles of great fishing.

To aid fishermen in pursuit of the big catch, Agency Bay Lodge offers protected docking, rental equipment, gas, bait, and great service. They also provide cabins fully furnished with dishes, flat screen TV’s, microwaves, and the lake, so that fishermen and families alike will be comfortable for their stays. On days when the weather prevents visitors from enjoying the lake, the city of Walker is only 14 miles away, where guests can shop, enjoy diners, and make memories.

The Lodge also offers a number of activities, from roasting marshmallows and playing in the game room to fishing seminars and other scheduled activities.

The Lodge has been in this location for over 30 years. There have been four owners since it was founded in 1958. Ron, the current owner, has this to say about his favorite part of running the resort:

“I enjoy being a part of people’s dreams and vacations. Many people dream about their vacation all year and I get to be a part of that dream. Whether they catching a big fish, catching a first fish, meet new friends, and have family fun. Being the host I am fortunate to be a part of guest memories and making sure they enjoy their time.”
