Hunting on Leech Lake
Leech Lake is home to great waterfowl hunting. There is nothing quite like hunting over the big open water when the northern ducks start traveling south. The forest and surrounding area of Leech Lake provides a host of great grouse trails. These same forests also provide great deer hunting for both archery and firearms.

Duck Hunting
Duck hunting season opens in early October in Minnesota and it is said to be best on the back bays and wild rice areas of Leech Lake. When duck hunting on Leech Lake, you can expect divers, ringers, and puddle ducks.
Shooting Ranges
Local shooting ranges that are open for the public include the Northstar Sportsman Club of Leech Lake and the Leech Lake Hunting Area.’
